PVA Boxers Dominate At Virginia Challenge!




Amateur boxers representing the Potomac Valley Association of USA Boxing won six out of eight contests at the first annual Virginia Challenge in Norfolk, VA on November 8.  The PVA All-Stars also won the team trophy.

The PVA team competed against boxers from Virginia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware in this tournament.  No other team won more than two bouts.

Tyreek Williams was named the Outstanding Boxer of the tournament.  Other PVA winners were Nikko Williams, Khalil Phillips, Mekhi Phillips, Keeshawn Williams and Nigel Fennell.

In a close bout, Paul Jerry lost a 2-1 Decision and Tyreek Irby lost by DQ for mouth piece violations.  The bouts for Max Garland, Richard Dodson, and Cornell Hines were scratched at weigh in.
