Former USBA Super Lightweight champion Tim "Pitbull" Coleman is under investigation by Las Vegas, NV police for his possible involvement in a murder that may have been committed by his wife.

The 31-year-old Baltimore, MD native has been arrested and charged for his possible involvement in an unrelated 2014 incident of breaking and tampering with a vehicle, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.  The Las Vegas Sun is reporting that Coleman was arrested on August 8 and remains in jail on $10,000 bond.

Coleman's wife, 28-year-old Margarita Balandova, has been arrested and charged with felony murder, robbery and invasion in the stabbing death of 84-year-old Mary Luebeck.  Prosecutors told the Sun that they plan to seek an indictment against Coleman in the murder case.

The Sun is reporting that a police report says Coleman told detectives that his wife left their house alone early July 29 and returned hours later shoeless with blood on her clothes. Coleman told police that Balandova told him she had killed someone and that he took the clothes and burned them.

Balandova blamed Coleman for the slaying, and she told police she walked through Luebeck's house looking for him.

Coleman (19-4-1, five KO's) was once one of the more talented prospects in the 140-pound division. Coleman was named the BATB Prospect of The Year in 2007. Coleman won the USBA Super Lightweight title with a 12-round split decision over Mike Arnaoutis in December of 2009 and his first defense -- a third-round stoppage of Patrick Lopez in October 2010 -- earned him the BATB Boxer of the Year award in 2010.

Since then, however, Coleman has fallen on hard times in and out of the ring.  Coleman lost his last three bouts in atrocious performances against Vernon Paris, Kendall Holt and Zahir Raheem.  Coleman then appeared on the first season of the Knockout boxing reality series and got into an altercation with noted boxing matchmaker Rick Glaser.
