Richmond, VA middleweight Immanuwel Aleem won a brutal eight-round unanimous decision over Jonathan Cepeda of The Bronx, NY in a nationally-televised (FS1) bout Tuesday night at the Sands Bethlehem Events Center in Bethlehem, PA.

The judge's scorecards said that Aleem won the bout handily (79-73 across the board) but the bout itself was incredibly tough as both men landed crushing blows.  Aleem managed to land more of the brutal shots but somehow Cepeda managed to stay upright and land solid punches of his own.  This was the second straight eight-round decision Aleem has won and he remains undefeated with a record of 16-0, nine KO's. Cepeda, who was competing for the first time since February of 2015, falls to 17-2, 15 KO's.

Aleem's older brother, Moshea, will return to action on the Mayweather Promotions card on Saturday, April 30 at the DC Armory when he takes on Martez Jackson (2-0-1, one KO) of Valdosta, GA in a four-round bout.  Moshea Aleem, a super welterweight (4-0, two KO's), returns after a two-year absence.  We will have more on the April 30 card later this week.
